What this specialty covers.

A cardiovascular check-up assesses the health of the heart and blood vessels and identifies certain cardiovascular risk factors. The tests required are determined by the patient's profile, medical history and any symptoms.

A cardiac work-up is worth little if it amounts to a list of tests. The cardiologist who sees you goes through your family history, your current medication and what you feel on exertion, then decides what needs to be looked at. We arrange the selected tests within a single stay, in one facility wherever possible.

Reasons for referral

Your situation is not on this list? It is not exhaustive: send your file and a doctor will read it.

Tests usually included

cardiology consultation
resting electrocardiogram
transthoracic echocardiography
exercise stress test where indicated
24-hour Holter monitoring, rhythm or blood pressure
carotid Doppler ultrasound
lipid profile and blood glucose
ambulatory blood pressure monitoring
review of current medication

The technique used depends on your file. It is settled by the doctor at consultation and stated in your proposal before you travel.

Travelling companion

We plan for them from the start: accommodation, transfers and presence at consultations.

What patients ask us.

No. It is offered where the context warrants it: chest pain on exertion, several risk factors combined, returning to intense sport, follow-up of known coronary disease. The cardiologist decides after the clinical examination and the ECG.

Never stop cardiac medication on your own initiative. Send us your prescriptions with your file: the cardiologist will tell you, before you travel, whether a drug needs to be paused and from when.

The cardiologist explains the lesion, how urgent it is and what the options are. Angiography or an interventional procedure can be arranged in Morocco if you wish; you remain free to go home with your file and decide there.

Yes, it is a common reason. Tell us which operation is planned and when: the content of the work-up and the turnaround on results are adapted so the anaesthetist and surgeon have what they need in time.

Have your file read before you decide.

A doctor reviews it and tells you what is possible, what is not and what it involves. With no commitment on your part.
