What this specialty covers.

Cardiology covers diseases of the heart and the cardiovascular system. Depending on the condition, treatment may be medical, interventional or surgical.

The gap between those three routes is considerable — in risk, in length of stay and in recovery. So we have your file reviewed before anything is arranged: the cardiologist says what is indicated, what can wait and what is urgent. When a procedure is chosen, it is scheduled in a facility with the matching equipment and intensive care.

Conditions treated

Your situation is not on this list? It is not exhaustive: send your file and a doctor will read it.

Treatments and procedures

coronary angiography
coronary angioplasty
stent placement
coronary artery bypass grafting
cardiac surgery
valve surgery
valve replacement
pacemaker
treatment of rhythm disorders

The technique used depends on your file. It is settled by the doctor at consultation and stated in your proposal before you travel.

We plan for them from the start: accommodation, transfers and presence at consultations.

What patients ask us.

Angioplasty reopens the artery from the inside, through a catheter, usually leaving a stent; the stay is short. A bypass routes around the blocked segment with a graft, most often on cardiopulmonary bypass: major surgery, reserved for multiple or poorly placed lesions. The choice follows the angiogram, not a preference.

Flying is not permitted immediately after open-heart surgery. The surgeon sets the date from your condition, taking drainage, rhythm and wound healing into account. That period appears in your proposal: estimated before you travel, confirmed after the operation.

Yes, and that is the right order. Send the angiogram, the echocardiogram, the reports and your prescriptions: the cardiologist gives an opinion on the documents and says whether travelling is justified.

Yes. Carry your device card and the latest check, and declare it at security. We inform the team: some imaging tests call for particular precautions.

Have your file read before you decide.

A doctor reviews it and tells you what is possible, what is not and what it involves. With no commitment on your part.
