Take stock of your health

Even when you have no symptoms, a health check-up can give you a picture of your general health, identify certain risk factors and, where possible, detect certain abnormalities early.

From around the age of forty, or earlier depending on personal and family history, risk factors or your doctor’s recommendations, a check-up may be offered as part of a preventive approach.

Know your health better today, to plan better for tomorrow.

Medic Interface coordinates your health check-up within its partner facilities and supports you throughout the process.

Why have a health check-up?

Some diseases can develop for several years before any symptoms appear. A check-up suited to each patient’s profile makes it possible to assess their state of health and to identify any risk factors that call for monitoring or further tests.

It can notably help assess the risks linked to:

The content of the check-up is adapted to each patient’s age, sex, personal and family history, risk factors and medical situation.

Your check-up in 2 stages

01

A first, complete check-up

On the day of your check-up, you are welcomed at the partner facility and guided through each of the planned steps.

Depending on the check-up chosen and your situation, this first stage may include:

  • medical questionnaire and review of your history
  • measurement of weight and height, and calculation of your body mass index (BMI)
  • vital signs
  • electrocardiogram (ECG)
  • blood sample and laboratory tests
  • clinical examination by a doctor
  • cardiology consultation and assessment
  • chest X-ray
  • abdominal and pelvic imaging where indicated
  • for women, gynaecological assessment and breast examinations where indicated

Once this first stage is complete, the available results are analysed to draw up an initial summary of your health. Depending on the medical findings, further tests may be recommended.

If needed
02

Further tests if needed

The results of the first check-up, your age, your history or your risk factors may justify further investigations.

Where medically indicated, a digestive investigation may notably include:

  • an upper digestive endoscopy
  • a colonoscopy

Bowel preparation is then arranged and the procedures are performed by a gastroenterologist.

This second stage is offered according to the patient’s profile and the medical assessment.

A medical report at the end of your check-up

Once the tests are done and the results are available, a summary is drawn up.

A summary of your results

The medical report brings together the main results of the check-up and, where necessary, the recommendations, referrals or further tests proposed.

A copy for your family doctor

At the patient’s request, a copy can also be sent to their family doctor to help with continuity of follow-up.

What happens next

If an abnormality or a condition requiring treatment is identified, Medic Interface can help the patient arrange the next stage of their care with the appropriate specialist or facility.

A check-up tailored to your profile

There is no single check-up that suits every patient. Its content is defined according to the patient’s age, sex, history, risk factors and needs.

Depending on the situation, Medic Interface can notably arrange:

A check-up prescribed by your doctor

If the patient already has a prescription from their family doctor, Medic Interface can arrange their check-up on the basis of the tests requested.

The family doctor can be involved in the process and receive the results, with the patient’s consent, to ensure continuity of follow-up.
